Day 6 of 2012

Today was the day I found the 4th flat I would live in while being in London for almost 4 years now. A little sad to know I'll be moving away from Balls Pond Road, from such a lovely flat but I guess it must be done. The new flat is lovely, not as perfect as now but lovely none the less. Weird thing is i'm moving back to the area of where I started my life in London.

Today was also the day I gave Milo away to someone else who would take a much better care of her than I do. I wanted to keep her but keeping two rabbits is too much for me at the moment and I feel like I've been spending less time with Jinxy when Milo was around. Spence and I felt so bad separating the pair but it must be done. Will miss her chubby cheeks though but I'm so glad she is with someone who will fuss over her and spoil her like crazy.

First week of 2012

Hi, So it's almost the end of the first week of the year and i can pretty much say that my week has been wonderful despite being a little stressful! Started the week being stressed out about finding a place to stay and finding a new home for milo but that has been sorted today. I swear gumtree is amazing and the demand for bunny rabbits in London is pretty high! Plus cherry on top of having an amazing Friday is finding the perfect flat to move to. Ok not as nice as current one but still pretty awesome and spacious! Also finally did some pattern cutting at work this week and i've made a skirt which took me 3 and a half days. It's so nice to make something and see the end result of it. PLUS my Crash Nitro Kart came today in the post! Brings the geek out of me again, can't wait to play it all night and enjoy my only free weekend for the next 7 weeks!

The Rest of Berlin

So it's 2012 now! What better way to spend the first day of the year by staying at home, sleeping until 1 p.m. and watching a depressing film (50/50) to remind us of the importance of enjoying life? Resting up as much as I can before starting work again on Tuesday.

Yesterday night was spent at Spence's friends place playing drinking games, watching the fireworks on telly and then sitting in the toilet for ages because I felt sick. Better than the two new years before I suppose. Oh Well.

Finishing up on my Berlin pictures:

We visited Tacheles at night. The place smelled like weed!

I bought a print from Tim Roeloffs there. First piece of art that I actually ever bought. Ok it's not his original collage which will be impossible to bring back on the plane to London but just an A4 print. Still counts!

On the last day spent at Berlin, the sky was blue and it was so sunny.

and then we walked to where Grace was interning at. While there, she was telling the people she work for that she's bringing me to the Sashsenhausen Concentration Camp which is a little outside of Berlin City and immediately the people were like, "What! Why are you going there for, it's dangerous you know, there are still neo Nazis living there!" We were both like "..." but still went anyways.

We just walked around the camp without taking an Audio guide because there was an hour before the sun sets and obviously we don't want to be stuck in there when it's dark.

This is where shooting takes place.

The wash up area where hundreds of prisoners only had 10 minutes or something like that to clean themselves up a day.

The toilet where hundreds of them also have a few minutes in the morning and night to relief themselves a day.

Just horrible. I guess the highlight of my trip to Berlin was visiting the camp because I've always wanted to visit one after watching so many documentaries and movies about the Holocaust. Let's just hope nothing like that will ever happen again in the future.

and that's all the pictures I took in Berlin which isn't alot and I had a crappy cold as well. When I came home, Spence was like, "so you didn't see the Jewish memorial??" and I was like "shiiiiiiitttt!!!!" The memorial in front of the Jewish Museum is something I wanted to see in Berlin sigh. Oh well.

Twenty Eleven in summary

2011 started out bad for me with that horrible horrible project gone wrong but then it ended with a nice tone.

So things i did in 2011 that is worth noting:

- turned the big 21. Had a nice dinner at Pearl Liang in Paddington and then rented out a booth at TigerTiger which Spencer bought me a huge birthday cake, balloons and my cousin gave me a gorgeous bouquet of roses plus an extremely big card.

- On the actual day of my birthday itself, Spence and I were strolling the streets of sunny Barcelona, the city i've always wanted to travel to since forever. Top of my travel list and i'm so glad it's done.

- Went to Madrid and Malaga with Vingi. We did so so much over the span of four days, it was such a good holiday and I manage to meet up with Kavin, my Spanish cousin who I haven't seen in ages.

- conquered my fear roller coasters. Did Alton Towers and Thrope Park!

- Finally saw the Stonehenge after 3 years being in London.

- Grayson Perry buying my dress from the project for 500 quid. Perfect ending to 2nd year.

- I guess getting a certificate from Liberty for the Liberty project?

- Seeing Lifehouse and Switchfoot perform on stage in London. Two of my all time favourite bands ever!

- Went to Edinburgh and Glasgow, tried to do the traditional Scottish Caleigh but Spence and I FAIL big time.

- Went to Mykonos in Greece for two weeks over the summer. Party central and gay paradise. Met the two greek waiters who were so nice to us and Jeff! Saw Roger Sanchez (shit) and Moby (awesome) at two clubs there as well as got hit on by a guy who I thought was gay. Best holiday after the Asia adventures two years ago!

- Went on a day trip to Tinos as well, shit. Don't go there unless your are super religious or something.

- Started my internship at Mary Katrantzou and met some amazing friends. Had an amazing Christmas party with a karaoke machine and two PINK microphones!

- Went to Venice and Verona with Spence on our two year aniversary. Left a lock with our names on it as cheesy as it sounds at Juliet's house.

- Went to Berlin to visit Grace and bought my first piece of art? Ate so much currywurst in one day till i got sick of it.

- Went to Stockholm with Jess for a weekend and went to a Swedish club.

- Listed an item for sale on ebay, still haven't ended but wanted to do that in ages but haven't until now.

- oh and the best thing ever, Spence bought me Jinxy, my gorgeous blue eyes, white ball of fluff!

So that is my 2011. I don't think I want to write any resolutions for next year. I'll just go with the flow and see where I end up at by the end of 2012.

Berlin

Now that i've actually got a few days left of my holiday, I'm catching up on my travelogues. I love posting up pictures and writing a little about my travels on my blog because well i always read back on my posts every now and then. It's nice to kind of reflect back on your life and what were you doing at that date last year or years ago and where have you been in life. That's why i'm still keeping this blog and updating it whenever I can.

End of November started out with a trip to Berlin for 4 days to visit Grace who was living there for 2 months. God knows how she does it but i'm absolutely in awed with everything she went through.

So more pictures but this time from Berlin,

We went to a market first thing in the morning at I can't remember where. I basically just followed Grace around blindly.

We ate this at the market! Taste like pita bread with butter and spinach and cheese.

Still remembered the guy at the stall not believing Grace is Chinese lol.

After the market which we didn't spend a long time at, we went for lunch at this place which apparently got good reviews ...

I think most of the noodles were made from potato or something like that ...

The food was alright. Not incredible that I would recommend it to anyone else.

Night was spent at the Christmas Market on my first day there. We wanted to go on this sky high chair swing thing but there was just too many people because it was the weekend. I didn't take any pictures there but do remember us eating a meter long sausage and me accidently squeezing ketchup on a kid who was standing below my sausage ... lol.

We went to a market sort of like Brick Lane on Sunday morning. The sky was very gloomy that day and the wind was so strong.

Okay my pictures aren't in order and i can't really remember when and what I did. I somehow miraculously manage to catch another cold after recovering from one two weeks before.

We were having lunch at an indian restaurant doing two for ones!

Ooohh while walking back to Grace's place in Berlin, we passed by one of those vintage photobooths and couldn't resist taking a picture lol. It's so hard to find one of these booths here in London!

Stockholm in a whirlwind

What a whirlwind the past two months has been and I've done a fair bit of travelling to Verona and Venice as well as Berlin and Sweden. Soooo many pictures to upload.

So two weekends ago, I spent my weekend at Stockholm, Sweden with Jessica. It was such a short trip but the tickets were so cheap to say no to, which is like less than the amount we usually spend on a night out anyways. So off to Sweden, we went!

We got there around noon but being so close to the Artic Circle, the day starts turning dark around half 2 to 3. We did pretty much walked everywhere worth seeing according to online guides though and we didn't want to go into any museums so it was ample time to see everything!

I love how Stockholm is divided into small islands and it's just so beautiful with all the twinkling lights and the reflection from the river (?) but it was freezing cold as well because it's next to the water. It was supposed to be colder though at this time of the year and there was supposed to be snow but there wasn't any which was weird.

While we were there, there was a protest/riot that broke out between racist people and anti racist people apparently. It was quite scary and we immediately headed in the opposite direction of where the riot took place. I remembered hearing loud exploding noises and there were sooooo many policemen.

Wandered up and down the streets of the old town and went into little boutiques to look at stuff. I absolutely love Scandanavian design even if it's just a candle holder or a cup. Swedish people seems to have this design flair. Bought myself a carousel tea-light candle holder which spins around when lighted.

Lol. lol. lol.

We were so hungry by 6 so we went to this fancy Italian restaurant for dinner at the old town.

I had seafood risotto. There was wayyyy too much vinegar in that.

After dinner we decided to just roam about somemore and try and find our hostel. Did not pay for travel at all because everywhere was walkable distance.

Earlier in the morning we bought 'friendship' rings at the airport. lol

After finding our hostel, dumping our clothes there and freshen up a bit we decided to go to a pub and of all pubs we went to was this!

Had our pints of Hoegaardens there and then headed to a club called Avery not too far away which was alright. I think it's most probably equavalent to the clubs at Mayfair cause it was abit pricey but the music was decent ... and then trotted back to the Hostel after a midnight snack of Scandanavian McD's.

By the way, OMG, if you want to stay in a bloody hostel with 7 other people in the same room and have freaking cheese feet, bring a bloody odour spray or something. Someone definantly had cheesy feet smell in the room but you just get immune to the smell after awhile. It's just when you go to the toilet and come back it freaking stinks.

Stockholm is such a beautiful city and I would definantly want to go back there, perhaps stay a little longer there the next time i'm around.

I am sitting in front of the fireplace with my boyfriend and his mum. Both my sweet little bunnies lazying around on the fleece blanket in front of me. A lighted christmas tree with red and gold ornaments. An amazing Christmas dinner with Turkey, stuffing, yorkshire puddings and potatoes. Perfect Christmas.

Hi, so three weeks ago Spence and I did the most randomest thing we could ever do, we got a pet rabbit.

3 weeks ago, on a Friday night I suggested the idea to Spence but he shrug it off. The next morning I began searching on gumtree for pet rabbits. I know, gumtree has EVERYTHING. Before we knew it, we were on the phone to Kelly and on Sunday, we made our way to Mill Hill.

We were supposed to get a black one but Kelly sold the black one to another guy on the same day, the best thing is we took the same train and bus as the other guy who took the black one from us.

So to cut the story short, we were playing with a 6 week old white bunny and a 3 week old black bunny... thus Spence bought the white one as a present for me and he placed a deposit on the black one for his mother for Christmas.

She absolutely loves fleece. This was the night we brought her home. She's not that calm anymore, she's super hyper and jumps off the couch. Runs/darts around the room ... etc.

God so cute! There's a piece of poop stuck to her -___-. My latest achievement this week is that i managed to potty train her! I'm super proud of myself and her everytime i look into her cage and her poop is in the litter tray! After two whole weeks of picking up poop after her and trying different layouts in her cage plus determining which is her pee spot in her cage... effort paid off.

Gosh, love her so much everythough she's crazy. How adorable is that. She's 9 weeks old now and on the weekend after this weekend, we're finally picking up the black one.

I've got a weakness for Boots Christmas gift packages. Every year I would go into Boots and just look at all the pretty gift packages but end up getting nothing. However this time around I manage to find an awesome Christmas present for spence's mum which I'm not gonna reveal now and two other things for myself heh. EVERYTHING IS SO PRETTY!!!!

Switchfoot in London!

Hello hello, so once again my Macbook has to be sent to Apple to fix the bloody microphone on it thus I don't have photoshop and neither can I be arse to photoshop the pictures. Gone are the days when i had hours and hours to kill, gone.

Anyways, got off from the studio early yesterday to go for Switchfoot's concert at the o2 Academy Sheperd's Bush! Venue slightly smaller than o2 Brixton but still such a good venue!

Plan to bring my Jeffrey Campbell's to the concert to add 7 inches of height failed cause was too tired after our whirlwind trip to Verona and Venice over the weekend. I did get a pretty good view of Jon Foreman a couple of times cause he moved around alot.

Both our tired ass faces. I understand now.

On the ticket it says 6.30 pm but thank god we took our own sweet time for dinner cause we got there at 6.40 and they still didn't let anyone in the venue.

The opening act was some band from Ireland which I didn't really enjoy compared to the opening acts at Lifehouse's concert. Their songs weren't memorable at all and it was I don't know, cliche? normal-ish songs?

Most of the songs they played that night were from their new album Vice Verses with Hello Hurricane, Dare You To Move and another two from the old albums which I'm blanked out on at the moment.

So lately I've been watching quite a bit of Zombie related movies as well as The Walking Dead. Just finished 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks later.

So really ... what do you do when the world becomes a zombie-infested, apocolyptic world? If it happens tomorrow, I don't think I will survive cause I don't have enough food in the house. I think I really should go jogging every week so that I could run for my life if i have to without going out of breath fast. Where do I get a gun? Or like that big slasher thing Selina holds in 28 Days later? Hmmm.

Persistence is vital

So yesterday I was just thinking to myself how boring my life is at the moment but today everything changed! I was more persistent and manage to land two confirm interviews (which I've been waiting for forever but the companies take forever to reply) next week and an unconfirm trial day which I will make confirm with phone calls later today! So excited for these interviews, need to get my portfolio sorted out but I think i'm nearly there :)

Also went out last night with Jolene, we both wore our All Saints heels and walk the slowest we could possibly walk on London's pavements. It was so funny and by the end of the night, I manage to NOT fall down ...until I reached my house door later in the morning. Major fail. It was a good girly night just like the old times, we swore we would make it a point to go out together without the boys once every week. Cheap wine which tastes like chlorine and tequila shots breath, good night!

Unrelated, I chopped an onion today and for the first time it stung my eyes and made me tear!

Twinkle Fairy Lights

This is my fourth year of being in London and finally I get to check off one of the sights in my 'touristy things to do in London' list, yay! That is the London Eye which Chubbs and I went to on Monday night.

Also managed to checked off the London Aquarium which we went to on Sunday evening but half the pictures are in my phone which Im too lazy to upload into my computer at the moment so pictures from the London Eye first...

We caught the 7.30 p.m. time slot. Knowing us, we'll be late. The sun was almost gone, the sky was painted dark blue with a hint of orange left. You know it just struck me that I only have two years left in London. So each picture post of London is going to be so nostalgic when I look back at my student days 5 years later. Ok I know 2 years seems ages but look at how fast we're approaching November then in no time it would be New Year's eve and 2012.

Anyway, the London eye standard ticket comes with a 4d experience which is a short 6 minute clip I think. It was really impressive, everything felt so real in the clip so it was worth the time spent watching it.

Recently bought a hair straightener because after watching so many youtube videos of how to curl your hair with a straightener, I was inspired. Going to give it a go!

I'm loving the weather in London, we finally have the indian summer which we all wanted 'during' summer but got it during the end of summer instead.

Decided to give my straight hair soft curls this morning just for a change. Also loving Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick which i got for free even though at first I thought what's the difference after applying it. However when used with blusher, it's absolutely amazing! It just gives this extra glow to your cheeks. I'm currently using the Pink Quartz shimmer brick which is a little too pale for my 'tanned' skin, might get the Nectar or Rose shimmer brick next.

So it's been a week since i've came back to London from my 3 week holiday back home. It was so great being back home that i'm actually feeling a little home sick. My trip home was to visit my parents, especially to spend more time with my mum and to see my grandmother. A year without family is quite depressing when you think about it so I did cherish whatever time i spent with them during my 3 weeks back. I also brought an entire 10 kgs worth of instant noodles, junk food, spices as well as sauces back with me to London as well as ate everything I could possibly eat.

So ever since I've came back here, I've been winter clothes hunting and bought myself a parka complete with faux fur trim. I absolutely love fur during winter and always wanted a parka because it's so easy going and matches just about everything. Besides a parka as well i've been ummm well real fur hunting. I ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted a real fur coat. I mean a VINTAGE real fur coat. I don't feel as bad for the animal who sacrificed it's life for the jacket because well vintage is well vintage. It's recycled, been worn before, probably is more than 50 years old so I feel less bad about it than if i were to buy a first hand fur coat. I'm an animal lover mind you.

So I remembered going to this little shop at the Camden Stables awhile ago and 80% of the shop is basically vintage, real fur jackets. Today I dragged my boyfriend down there again and using whatever memory I have of the store location, I manage to find it! To my dismay though the prices in that shop has gone up because I don't remember it being so expensive, I guess probably cause the winter season is fast approaching.

So today is the very day, after being in London for 3 years and still have not own a vintage fur coat, today is the day I bought my first fur coat which actually fits me. Also it was quite a bargain I think cause it's a swing coat made out of dark brown mink fur going for half it's actual price. The woman told me it was from the 1920's ???? If i haven't heard wrong. I am absolutely in love with it so is Spencer because he kept praising this one over a rabbit one. I'm head over heels in love with it, it's the softest thing i've ever touched.

I also bought myself the cutest rabbit fur scarf, also VINTAGE which is so soft like a baby's bum. Bring on winter! I'm ready for it!

Hair Dye

Hair used to be jet black, not even a single shade of colour in it. Maybe a tint of really dark brown but otherwise just jet black.

Now, it's much lighter especially under the light. Bought Liese's Cassis Berry to give it a go since I've not dyed my hair in 2 years. A little bit disappointed with the colour as I wanted it to be more towards a tint of red instead of just brown. Still having mixed feelings about it.

Thorpe Park

I'm home! I'm finally home after a whole year being abroad. Feels so strange yet nostalgic stepping off the aeroplane. My feet immediately started to sweat once I stepped out onto Malaysian soil. Nothing says home than to a good Nyonya dinner with my mum and aunt's family with my little cheeky niece, Noel as well as supper at Kayu (roti canai and teh tarik which I've been craving for so long) with friends. Home sweet home really.

Anyways, last Thursday I went to Thorpe Park with Spencer. Was supposed to go wayyyy earlier with John and Jolene during one of those Bank Holidays but didn't make it. I remembered my heart pounding in my chest just by looking at pictures and videos of Stealth and Saw the roller coaster. As everyone knows I was once, quite a chicken when it comes to thrill rides.

So when we got there, the first ride we queued for was 100 MINUTES queue time (fml). It was obviously, Nemesis Inferno! The kid sitting behind me was telling his mum, "Now i feel like i'm in the inbetweeners show!". Will aka briefcase in The Inbetweeners kept going on and on about this roller coaster and there was a whole scene at the roller coaster, so bloody hilarious! It was a good starter ride but to be lining up for an hour and a half for something that lasts that short wasn't worth it. Next we went on Colossus which everyone complained about a back ache after riding the ride. Queued for 90 minutes this time but was so much more worth it! The drop was exhilarating, 5 seconds of feeling like you are going to die and the loops! I think the scariest part was the helixes, i could really feel myself being upside down with my shoulders pressed against the straps. Just when you think the ride is over, they spin you upside down once more before heading back to the station haha.

After that we went to the Saw Alive Maze and stood behind the queue so it was alright as the front people got scared first hahahahaha. The scariest bit was the girl hanging limp on the chain and suddenly coming to life screaming and darting towards you, hahahahaha. Ok, thinking back about it, i'm glad we didnt queue 30 minutes to go into that thing because it wasn't worth the wait.

I suddenly had this adrenaline rush from rushing from one ride to another that i actually ran into Saw roller coaster. Don't know what got to me because i didn't want to go on it initially. Stealth was close that day. We were one of the last so the usher pushed us to sit on the front row, I was feeling quite hyper that time so didn't thought much about it but it was an awesome ride! I would definantly do it again despite my head snapping forward too much giving me a neck ache. The beginning when it starts from the shed was unpredictable, who would've thought there was a drop inside greeting you menacingly just before the big one outside. Love it when they make you stop and stare at the wall you were going up with Jigsaw going, "game over." and you start heading up, up, up. Ok i can't remember much of it as I was screaming my head off and gripping the grips as tightly as I can but I would definantly go on it again! So proud of myself for doing these coasters!

Greatest Eyeliner EVER

One thing I really hate is being attached to a product that I've been using for so long only to find out they discontinued it. This happened to me like some 2 months ago when I noticed my eyeliner was almost finished. I went to the MAC store to buy a new one only to find out they discontinued the product in store! I was so gutted.

I've been using the MAC liquidlast in Point Black for 3 years now and it's the best liquid eyeliner i've ever used.

I've always had watery eyes so a non waterproof eyeliner is chaotic to me as it smudges too much whenever my eyes starts to tear up. The liquidlast only comes off when using an oil based make up remover. Even though it takes awhile to dry ... but i have my hairdryer which has a cool setting to aid the drying process lol. I remembered falling asleep one night with eyeliner still on and the next day i woke up, it's still there and looks untouched! I survived looking decent with this eyeliner during my summer last year as well as this year where spending LOADS of time in the sea is a regularity.

A week ago, I went eyeliner hunting and believe me, there isn't loads of 'waterproof' eyeliners that are as 'waterproof' as the liquidlast. I remembered last summer, I went to Sasa to buy a seemingly said waterproof eyeliner (RM 50) only to go back and find out that it was resistant, not waterproof so it still washes out.

Anyways, I went to the Shu Uemura counter and bought the Painting Gel eyeliner (20 quid urgh) to give it a go since it was waterproof. It doesn't come with a brush so i bought an angular brush from Topshop instead. It's quite good but it still doesnt last as long as the liquidlast and I remembered sobbing my face out once over some argument with spence ... yea ... so it smudged all over my eye leaving me looking like a panda. I guess the good thing about this painting gel is that it's easier to draw compared to the brush in the liquidlast.

Today I was looking up at online reviews and clicked on the MAC store. Somehow I remembered checking online a few weeks ago but must have just scrolled pass the liquidlast so I thought there really was no way to buy it anymore BUT today I found out that Point Black is the only colour available on the online store for something like 13.50 i think which is so comparably much cheaper than the painting gel.

Words can't describe how happy I am right now after placing my orders online. It's like I met a long lost friend again. No actually it's more like I died and been revived again. That is how great this eyeliner is. Seriously.

Omg i just want my computer back now. How in the world did i manage to destroy two macbooks in the span of 6 months is beyond me. I am in dire need of my macbook, all my pictures, projects and photoshoots as well as photoshop, I NEED THEM. Sigh. Wish the Apple guys would give me a ring tomorrow.

Anyways, yesterday after waiting for a long time for a new episode of The Inbetweeners, I finally went to watch the movie. SO HILARIOUS. Two thumbs up for the movie. it was just as good as the series which is good because most TV series turn movie just don't work out like Sex and The City. My favourite part has to be when Will starts joining in with Neil and Simon to dance. So fucking hilarious, I laughed till i cried. Definantly have to watch that movie again soon!

There actually isn't a lot to see in Mykonos besides nude/gay beaches and partying. The windmills are the very few tourist attraction Mykonos has to offer. A lovely place to watch the sunset actually.

Tried to take self timer shots but a man walked pass after this picture and my mood to take pictures was killed after that. It was also very hot + the feeling of left over sun block on your skin isn't too great. But we manage to go back to the windmills a few more times so it's ok. Haha.

I always felt that how a kid's character is reflects on how their parents are. There are too many scumbags around London. The past three days London has been so chaotic. I've been watching the news closely and it makes me so angry to see teenagers running around vandalizing and stealing stuff from the shops. The worst thing is that many of them got off without being caught. The situation has gone so out of hand that even when they took out 16000 police to petrol the streets of London today, the riots were happening in other cities instead. I feel for those who watch their apartments and business burn away especially those independent business whose livelihood depends on the shop that the bloody hooligans burn away just for some fun. The news said that all those riots were mainly done by 7 to 20 year old kids, where were their parents?

Everyone constantly complains about Malaysian education from time to time and it isn't that great I have to admit. Maths and science is constantly reverting from malay to English, English to malay but to be honest I feel grateful for being brought up in Malaysia, going to school and growing up with the circle of friends I grew up. I'm also very grateful to be born into an Asian family and growing up with Asian traditions, my parents constantly reminded me of what was right and wrong, they were strict but enough to let me have my share of freedom during high school. I just feel like after seeing how all the kids behave during the riots and the video of girls saying they were drinking free booze they took from the off license and wishing the riots would continue to cause havoc all over London, I think in the future when I have kids of my own, I would bring them back to Asia for their education. I'm forever grateful to be brought up by my wonderful parents, being brought up in Malaysia, in my circle of friends and being brought up in the Asian tradition.

First views of Grecian islands, I think

A dj's private plane parked at the tiny airport in Mykonos. Apparently while we were there, the holiday rep told us there was 7 private jets at the airport that week and Steven Speilberg as well as Philip Green were on the island with their own private boats.

Us, on our first dinner on the island. Blue Myth restaurant obviously and i had my first plate of Lobster Pasta.

Lobster Pasta! Yummiest thing on the island, so god damn delicious.

On our 2nd day, we rented an ATV for the next 3 days. We drove around the island, over the hills and beach hopped all the way to spend a few hours on each.

Our first stop was one of the beaches on the Northern part of the island which is mainly pebbled beach.

I guess the only thing that I don't really like about the beaches there is that there are too many sunbeds crowding the beach.

and this is Elia which is supposingly the most beautiful beach on the island but my favourite has to be Kala Livadi. Elia is also a nude beach i think.

the water is crystal clear everywhere with little silver fishes swimming near the shore. It was so hot lying on the beach that the sea is such a good place to cool down.

Mykonos!!

I have no idea where to start except that I came back from a 2 weeks holiday with Spence to Mykonos, Greece. It was AMAZING and probably the only summer I'll ever have this year as the weather is pretty horrendous in London. I felt so upset when we had to say goodbye to the place.

At first I didn't really like it because when the plane landed, all I could see out of the tiny window was alot of sand, rocks, sand, rocks and no trees with little white buildings scattered around. Also I caught a cold the first day so we stayed indoors all day the day after we landed. But the longer we stayed there, the more charming the little town of Mykonos is and all it's surrounding areas. We stayed in a studio at Petinos Apartments at Platy Yialos which was basic but clean, has a little fridge and stove. We were given room number 13 which is the biggest room based on online reviews ... also has a washing machine in it! There was also a very sweet cleaning lady who gave us bars of kit kats and just generally very nice.

On the first night, we had dinner at Blue Myth restaurant at Platy Yialos, had a plate of Lobster Pasta there and was instantly hooked! I was so addicted to it and all I was craving for on the first week was that but it died down and then it was Spence's turn to go on and on about Lobster Pasta and recommended it to everyone we met. That was also where we met Yorgos, a 42 year old greek waiter whose extremely funny and nice. Everytime we walk past him to go to the pool or the boats, he'll be there greeting us going, "Hey man!" He's such a novelty.

On the first week, we hired an ATV for 3 days just to get around the island and go beach hopping, I decided my favourite beach on the island has to be Kala Livadi. It's not full of sunbeds which costs a ridiculous amount of 12 euros to 30 euros for two and has a vast stretch of sand to put down a beach blanket. The sea was crystal clear and sandy without stupid big rocks.

Mykonos is famous for it's party scene, it's Ibiza in Greece, maybe slightly cheaper. We caught Roger Sanchez djing at Cavo Paradiso which is apparently one of the top 10 clubs in the world but to be honest I didn't think Roger Sanchez was that good. We also caught Moby at Paradise club and it was his first time djing in Mykonos! He was so good. Spence said we caught two bald guys playing in two weeks. -____-

Also on the night we were heading to Cavo Paradiso, Spence made it a point to put a bottle of vodka lime into my handbag for saving money on drinks purposes which exploded and drowned my blackberry which damaged my phone severely. THANK GOD for Orange Care, I got it replaced with a new blackberry immediately when I came back. Side note, I also managed to spill water all over my mac one night and THANK GOD I bought Apple Care for 3 years so I could get all the damaged parts for f.o.c. otherwise I would have to pay a ridiculous amount of 700 quid because the normal warranty doesn't cover it. Seriously thank god.

Mykonos town is alive at night compared to during the daytime as it's so hot. The little boutiques and high street shops are open till 1 or 2 in the morning, restaurants will still be open till 3 maybe and the bars and clubs all open till 7 or 8 a.m. There was one evening, after watching the sunset at the windmills, Spence and I walked through Little Venice and we stopped at this high white wall overlooking the sea. We met a New Yorker, Jeff there. So one night, Jeff met us at the bar called The Old Customs which plays rock music and sells cheap drinks and we hung out there till we were met up by Yorgos who brought along Costos. Omg Yorgos ordered so many Jack Daniel shots with Tobasco added to it and so many other little 'funky' drinks at the bar. Thank god Spence drank my part otherwise I would've died of OD because the night before after receiving free shots from the nice bar lady, I was clutching the toilet bowl.... We bar hopped for the rest of the night going to places such as Mykonos bar and Jackie O's which is a gay bar. I think Spence was hit on at the toilet. We went back at 8 in the morning after having morning crepes and souvlaki. Jeff who was supposed to go to Delos the next day said he felt paralysed and had a hangover. Spence and I just slept the whole of next day and had dinner with Jeff who was leaving the day after back to USA. Throughout the night, Costos had so much energy to dance, properly dance not just head bobbing for 7 hours straight, he could even down a big glass of hard alcohol in 2 seconds. There was also alot of shouting of ,"I'm the King of Mykonos!" throughout the whole night.

There is two nude beaches on the island, Elia and Super Paradise. Super Paradise was gay friendly and ok you would've expect younger people to go nude but the people who has their bullocks out were mostly old men ... . Spence and I came out with a plan to casually spy on people after hearing this English woman saying she casually swimmed from one side of the beach to the other because walking on the beach and looking at people would be too obvious. We both found a lilo that nobody wanted so we took it and blew it up, I was lying on the lilo with me facing the beach with big sunglasses on while Spence leaned against me and pushed me along the coastline to look less suspicious hahaha, the sights we saw!

We also took a day trip to the neighbouring island of Tinos which isn't really that great. Everyone was told to bring cover ups like long jeans, long skirts, scarves except Spence and I so we couldn't go in the monastery. Still trying to get a refund for it. There really isn't much to see on Tinos....

I miss the gorgeous Summer heat in Greece and the breeze at night, I miss sitting on the balcony overlooking little white houses which looks like marshmallows with blue windows and blue doors. I miss walking up and down Platy Yialos and taking the bus which is so convenient to get to anywhere in the island. I miss the Lobster Pasta and Mykonos town as well as the countless crepes we had during those two weeks.

This holiday was one of the best holidays Spence and I ever had, so much better than Ibiza. The people we met were so friendly and accepting which made our trip even more memorable.

By the way, Grecian news broadcast is so bad. They only show parties and celebrity sightings instead of current news that actually mattered but I guess it's good that it didn't dampen our holiday mood as the Norway massacre is just devastating and North London has it's riot last night that I could hear the sound of the sirens throughout the whole night. It's just so bad not to mention Amy Winehouse passing away but it was bound to happen soon.

Stonehenge

So last weekend has been incredibly rainy, plans to spend an entire day at Thorpe Park was cancelled much to my dismay. Boo you weather.

Spence and I managed to get out of London on the 3 p.m. train on Sunday evening to Salisbury to see the Stonehenge!

Ta da ... stonehenge and bloody English weather.

That smile is quite fake as I was wearing the wrong attire, should've wore my winter coat. The wind was so strong that I was shivering so much so I just zoomed through the whole place and the commentary on the audio guide they gave us.

Spence was also complaining that his ears hurt because of the wind but we still managed to get the pictures down us hehe.

I love candid shots like any other girl.

We were on the last tour of the Stonehenge bus tour so we had 1 hour and 20 minutes to see the whole site ... which is a long time. It didn't rain while we were on the field but with another 30 minutes to go, it started pissing it down so we just hid in the Heritage Tour store. The sales person was so nice that he even switched on the heater for us.

Despite it raining, we made use of our 2 hours left by walking to the Salisbury church from the market place.

Ching was so nice to accompany me and it was the best haircut I ever had! I went to this Japanese Saloon near Holborn and the hair stylist paid so much attention to detail that he made sure he described everything out about what he was going to do to make sure that I get what I wanted. Ok I just shorten the length and instead of layered, the whole thing is straight now, which I really like as it's not going in every direction now. Also got a head and neck massage, so good.

Ok sidetracked, and the last few pictures we took on the day before giving up and heading to the pub to have a nice English pub food far away from the horrendous weather.

Last day at CXR

As the title says it all, this post has pictures from my last day at CXR. From pictures from the dress I made for the Grayson Perry project to the 2nd and 4th floor of CXR which is the floors us, print students used the most.

Grayson brought along a suitcase full of crinolines, shoes, tights and socks for us to accessorize our dresses with.

All the dresses we made placed onto railings during the announcement of winners and which dresses he wants to buy.

Quite shocked really when he announced that he wanted to buy my dress because I mean I did want him to at least pick my dress but everyone did an amazing job with their pieces. Still quite a pleasant surprise!

... and so this is the dress I made, a cute (word of the day that day) A-line shaped dress which everyone also did, front zip with scallops that killed me while making the toile (thank god I managed to get the technicians to help me with the final one) as well as jet pockets hidden behind the ribbons on each side of the dress.

Sigh the tiles took so long to print because it has 4 different colours including the white base and I had to match the places so they don't look too oddly out of place. I didn't have time to even make a whole print sample of all the tiles I drew.

Hello people, crappy post ahead because I'm so sleepy from waking up at 7 for the past two weeks and sleeping awfully late. Next week is sleep debt collection week for me.

Today is the last day of being a 2nd year print student at CSM as well as the last day of being in the building at CXR before moving to King's Cross. We took so many pictures on the 2nd and 4th floor because the 2nd floor is where the print rooms are and the 4th floor is where the studios, us print students use to make our garments. So many memories, happy and sad were left behind in the building. We spent so much time in the past two years there so it was pretty sad to say goodbye.

Also today is the day of our Grayson Perry project crit and guess what? Grayson Perry is buying my dress for 500 pounds! I'm so ecstatic as this is the first time my design is being sold to a client. I was so worried this morning as my tutorials didn't go so well over the past 5 weeks but thank god the hours I spent in the print room doing 4 shades of colour on one print paid off! Natalie even told me that my prints look beautiful.

God I'm so happy now. Just reminiscing the past 5 weeks in my head from the day of washing 5 big screens for my prints. Almost losing one of them which made me feel like crying and Imogen went around trying to find it and found it after I washed half of a new screen. Imogen also gave me some white binder which we usually have to buy when mine ran out. Freaking out over the scallops and zippers but with Carla's help, she sewn them all wonderfully perfect. She's so amazing, I love her so much and her sewing skills is impeccable. She even sewn the top stitching on my collar when I forgot too. Sigh, this project wasn't easy at all, there was so little time, so much frustration, but in the end it all paid off! I'm so happy! Pictures next time

As everyone knows, I've got a handbag obsession and below is my new steal from Selfridges Summer Sales! It pays to wake up early on the first day of the sales. I really like the studded Alexander Wang bag but then it's quite heavy and it's a draw string bag. I've wanted a black one which i can use casually that isn't too heavy for ages. I've given up on buying high street/cheap handbags BECAUSE i broke 4 handles in the past 2 months. Plus i'm quite picky when it comes to bags. It sucks ok when you grow attach to a bag and it breaks after a few months of usage.

Anyways the black fringe Miu Miu is my latest addition which I absolutely adore!

It's Wednesday already, today we all did our fitting session on Grayson who we designed a dress for. I still haven't started washing my screen yet, urgh I've changed my prints so many times. I'm doing a tile like print with 4 different colours hopefully so it's going to take some time just to finish my artwork. Gosh another sleepless night plus I'm down with a cold.

On the bright side, it's been five days since I moved to my new home and I love every second I spend in it.

Can you believe that it's June already! In 3 weeks I'll be done with my second year at CSM and the school is going to move to King's Cross. I'll definantly miss the Charing Cross building along with all the other students who have roamed the halls. The 2nd floor print room, 4th floor studios, the tiny canteen, our library and everything about it. I'll miss soho just next door, Chinatown down the road and Tottenham Court Road leading up to oxford street just awhile away.

Last week was the BA Hons Fashion Press show and two final year students from my course won 1st and 3rd prize respectively which makes me even more happier regarding what I'm doing EVENTHOUGH it's not always sunshine and butterflies. Before the show started, they played this videoclip below which is a good way to say goodbye to the Charing Cross building we all love.

On the other hand, good news is I won't be homeless for a week and am able to move into my new beautiful flat I rented at the other side of London.

So lately i've been the target of being bullied on facebook by a particular person which upsets me and pisses me off. This particular person is a friend of my boyfriends who dislikes me on such great scale (me the same) just because my flatmate and I refuse to let him stay over at our house after a night out a few weeks ago. We have our own reason to ... because we all went for supper, and guess what? This particular 26 year old doesn't have enough money to pay for his own food thus I have to fork out 15 quid = Rm 75 to pay for his supper. If he doesn't have enough money, he could've not ordered so much food when in the first place, my flatmate and I shared a dish. He didn't even say 'Thank You' or 'Sorry' well obviously we'll be pissed off, it's just shows ungratefulness.

This is not the first time he tried to publicly humiliate me on facebook. I mean come on, even if I dislike you I've got enough morals to not go through such great lengths to show my dislike by publicly embarrassing you. Facebook is so public, by posting things on facebook is just an equivalent as to print out posters of me and plastering them on walls of buildings on the streets as well as drawing on top of it to disgrace me.

Anyways, yesterday I saw this particular c**t posting up a group picture and my face being drawn onto. Gee thanks. You are so bloody mature by using 'PAINT' to draw on my face right, who the hell uses MICROSOFT PAINT now ???? What era do you live in that you don't know how to use photoshop?? I might find it funny if no. 1, you are my close friend doing it but no you're not, i know you hate me and i hate you too thats why i know the picture was done on purpose. No. 2, I didn't even talk to you or have any contact with you for the past month and all the sudden you have to lash out on me like that? No. 3, are you 5 years old ?

You think you're such an amazing person, well you're not. So there was this time he treated my boyfriend and I to a 2.50 quid each tapa meal, and you know what? He still brings it up now as if it's such a noble thing to do by treating me 2.50. He brought his flatmate to my birthday party who I did not charge any money for, who dropped the cupcake which costs like 2 pounds something Spencer bought for me to surprise me, who burst 3 out of 7 of my helium balloons Spencer also bought for me for my 21st, and i'm the one who forked out 100 quid just to buy everyone drinks and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves that night including that piece of shit who targets me for bullying all the time. Oh wait i remembered you staying over at my place the first time i met you and ate all my crisps. Oh I also remembered me and my flatmate paying extra for the cab while you paid a measly 5 quid for it without even saying thank you.

phish food anyone?

Hello, so I finally, FINALLY could access my blog again after trying an awful lot of times the past few days. I've been pretty busy with uni as always especially now that the Grayson Perry project has started (gonna try working with latex).

Yesterday was date night with Spence and I. We've been talking about doing this for ages but it never happened so yesterday night we did go out. We went for dinner at our favourite Italian restaurant and then went to TigerTiger afterwards. Now that i'm 21 i can actually go in there on weekends lol.

We were saying we're such an old couple because we never seem to do anything anymore so this time it is a change and the best thing is we both had fun.

Cheers to our new place which we will be moving into the next 3 weeks and celebratory drinks for his new job. I'm happy.

By the way the other day it was raining like crazy that there was actually lightning as well. It felt so much like home for a second.

After much consideration and emotional roller coaster, I decided that the flat that I saw on Monday is MY flat. Yesterday we even went to look at 3 different ones around camden which is more expensive but it wasn't nicer that that one I had my eye on.

I'm so excited yet it's going to be a nightmare when the time comes for me to move out of my lovely Paddington flat and just finding a place to store things for 5 days. I think I'll be alright with my project and everything. That flat is too lovely to give up on. I hate to see it slip out of my grip and fall in the hands of some other people.

I was browsing through some of my facebook pictures until I came to the album with pictures from Perhentian Island taken last Summer. I went there with John after our 2 and a half weeks Thailand adventure.

It felt a little heart breaking looking back at all those pictures because it makes me feel so sick of the city and so far away from home.

I miss Malaysia and will never stop missing all that is Malaysia.

Tell me what is there not to love with a scenary like this? It makes me fall in love all over again.

I know this is far from what PJ looks like but it sure as hell is making me a little homesick.

It feels too long ago when It's not even a year yet but I miss everything about this.

I miss this feeling, just you and I, far away from everyone else.

Sometimes I wonder whether the decisions I make in life especially now are for better or worst?

I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment with the amount of things i have to do for the next month especially packing and being homeless for 5 days during a very important project. I'm asking myself, "How the hell did i collect so much rubbish and 50 ++ pairs of shoes in 2 years?" I blame it on compulsive buying especially when I'm back in Malaysia because shoes are so much cheaper (less comfortable) than here. As well as the big question of how am I going to cart my sewing things to whoever house i'm staying at along with my laptop and luggage bag? And I've got a big A1 portfolio case FILLED with papers, it's so freaking heavy because of illustration class (I threw out alot of drawings that I didn't like). Sigh. There's this nagging feeling inside me to do, do, do. I also feel like I'm missing out on alot of interviews for internship next year as i've yet to do up my portfolio, make it better but how am I going to find time amidst this mess ???!?!?

House hunting

Can you believe it? There's only 6 more weeks left of being a second year student in CSM. I'll be on my placement year and before I know it, I'll be stressing over my final project in my final year. Time seriously flies.

Right now I'm caught up between Liberty Project, Portfolio, taking Portfolio pictures and finding a house to rent for the coming summer and winter. It's so stressful finding a place because there's so many things to consider and loads of places looks dingy and dodgy with the budget we're at. We even went to two BASEMENT flats at Caledonian road. I never thought of how it would feel like living in a cave until now. Even the realtor didn't have any good points to say about the flat. He was like, "well, you get two hours of sunlight from 12 pm till 2 pm in the summer" ... uhhh yea that's tragically sad when now I'm living on the top floor, its so bright and airy. The toilet looks like a setting for some horror movie, it's long and narrow. I rather sleep in the overnight ferry at Koh Tao for a month than to rent that flat. At one point you could see he was desperate in selling us the flat that he even went into the shower and tried turning on the shower saying, "It has a good power shower" ... but the shower wasn't really working so he said, "usually it's not like this but today it is". *bangs head on the table* After we left that place, John and I laughed our heads off. Those two flats were so tragic, you can even see people's feet walking on the pavement above.

We also went to another one at Finsbury park which has Moorish tiles, Indian interior decor. The wallpaper was so bad I could cry but other than that everything was actually quite nice and it was cheaper than all the other places we saw but still it wasn't what we were looking for.

In the end, close to the end of the day, we randomly walked into an agency at Angel after going through like what 10 to 20 houses that afternoon? The agent brought us to this flat near Dalston and it was love at first sight. Entering the main door there were cream coloured carpets and wooden doors of different apartments greeting me. Entering the door of the apartment on the second floor is a small coridor with 3 doors, the bedroom, toilet and lounge plus kitchen. Everything was wooden floors and the colour theme was white, creme and light brown. Needless to say I was so happy, I could see myself living there. Living abroad is hard especially coming home to a place that doesn't feel like home. I mean I love the place where I'm living right now but climbing up the stairs to the top floor everyday makes me so tired. That flat we saw near Dalston is the place I could see myself wanting to come home to. It has a beautiful lounge and kitchen. A big double bedroom and a gorgeous toilet. I already pictured the whole apartment with my things in it, where I want things to go, etc.

I also want to get that side table at this home store at Liverpool street which I wanted since the beginning of time as well as the front door rug that says "Oh no not you again". Yes I do want a front door rug that says that, I think it's funny. I want to buy things from HM home because everything in there is so lovely. I could picture those things in that flat!

We went back to the office and I put a deposit on it. Went home happily that evening with dreams of my new place ... BUT ... next day the agent called, told me the dates we wanted couldn't be done. I was so upset because you know how you found something you really really like and it's so close but now seems so far away ... urgh. Plus when we move in it will be the last week of my last project for my 2nd year. I'm in a dilemma right now, I love that place too much to give it up like that. I'm really hoping my landlord will let me extend my stay here because I really want that flat that I don't really want to live anywhere else. That place just feels so ... right.

Ages ago, I posted about the All Saints Shoes which I absolutely adore... WELL, today I bought them. In black. I finally did it, after months of pondering my head off. It's all Jolene's fault for dragging me into All Saints that afternoon which left the shoes stamped permanently in my memory.

I love them though, I LOVEEEEE THEM SO SO SO SO SO MUCH. So happy now sigh.

Edinburgh

Last Monday, which is the 2nd of May, Elena drove Al, Spence and I to Edinburgh from Glasgow just a couple of hours for sight seeing.

The sun was up in the clear blue skies but the wind made everything so cold! Despite cold wind, Edinburgh is such a beautiful city and the pictures for this post were taken from Elena who just snaps away with her camera!

There were so many Scottish man playing the bag pipes in kilts around the streets which really does make it feel like you are in Scotland.

Just random pictures here and there. I don't know what building were we at except for the castle because we were in such a rush that we just zoom through the streets, soaking in everything we could. Another post of this another time.

I guess one thing the Barcelona stadium tour doesn't have is us, being able to seat down on the manager's seat. Apparently there is under seat heating to warm your butt up during the cold winters?

I think I like Barcelona's stadium more than the Real Madrid one as it looks cleaner and the museum was more modern with so many more things to see. Obviously also because I'm a Barca fan!

Windsor and Notts

The week before Easter I was at Nottingham visiting Spence's mum. So a whole 9 days in the countryside and road trips was bliss.

anyways, went to Windsor Castle on the 25th of April on Bank Holiday!

but the whole point of going to Windsor was to see the castle but thanks to Spencer's shirt which took his mum 3 hours to iron, we were too late... and another missed opportunity to see a castle for me.

instead we took a 45 minute boat ride on the Thames which I was feeling so cold on! The sun is so deceiving in England. I regretted the whole day of not wearing a jacket especially when it was at night, oh well, still Windsor is such a beautiful, quaint little town.

Spence broke his aviators thus he's wearing the shades I bought to complete the Lady Gaga look for Halloween!

There was a farm beside Spencer's house so there were SO MANY sheeps just on the other side of the hedge.

We were driving to Belvoir castle and he's wearing his mum's pink leopard print glasses hahahaha.

There were fields after fields of yellow. So beautiful, i guess you don't get that in Malaysia.

In the distance is Belvoir castle which we found out was closed until 2 May when we got there.... urghh.

So annoyed I didnt get to see any castles.

and after that I fell sick for 3 whole days. I just lay in bed with a cold.

and I recovered and we went to Alton Towers! The weather was so beautiful and sunny that there wasn't a need for jacket. We arrived there late but still managed to go on 8 rides before closing time.

Went on Rita, Air, Nemesis and Mine Train for the roller coasters. I have to say, I'm quite proud of myself for going on 4 roller coasters since I'm so afraid of theme. Air and Nemesis are cockscrews and Mine Train, well it's like every Mine Train coaster. Rita was damn fast that you don't even have a second to recover until the end of the ride which is 5 seconds later because it's that fast. My favourite has got to be Air especially when they drop you, upside down, head first.

We also went to Sherwood Forest after the farm which is famous for the tale of Robin Hood.

Spring and Major Oak Tree

Last weekend I went to Scotland, or more precisely Glasgow, spontaneously and tried the Scottish caleigh which is the folk dance, omg was it complicated but we had so much fun being complete morons. We also went to Edinburgh for a few hours. Scotland is so beautiful but it's colder than London which is the downside. Pictures next time! Still havent finish my Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga pictures.

So to sum up my 1 month easter break, I started off with bumming for a week and helping Kyra with bits and bobs of her project, going to Madrid and Malaga with Vingi, did some tiger project and liberty project things, went to Nottingham for 9 days, had Spence's friend stay over for 3 days and off to Glasgow and Edinburgh. School started today, handed in my Tiger Project, wish me luck that I might be able to stand a chance to win the prize money.

I'm back from my yet another trip to Spain (3rd time). I don't know what is it but there's something intriguing and captivating about Spain that I always want to go back for more. It's such a beautiful country and so full of sunshine as well as endless blue skies (London is ridiculously cold today).

This time it has to be Madrid.

After dumping our bags at the hotel, we were ready to go despite not having any sleep the night before. There wasn't time to waste as we only had two days to see everything touristy.

We started off our journey through Madrid with Puerto Del Sol as the starting point .

It was a lovely day, the weather was so warm that it was unneccesary to wear a jacket.

We bumped into Bob Esponja and Patrick Starfish (don't know what it's called in Spanish)!

The amount of all things Bob Esponja's in Spain is overwhelming, I want to BUY EVERYTHING. Not kidding but don't worry I did not. Big fan of Spongebob here.

We had lunch somewhere off Calle Mayor, at a little alleyway which serves Paella for 17 euros. It was so worth it. I love paella as much as I love asam laksa, nasi lemak and what not. We had paella for every meal during our entire four days there.

Further down the road at Calle Mayor, we found ourselves at Plaza Mayor which is quite beautiful being surrounded with red stone wall buildings.

For some reason, my spring holiday wardrobe would comprise of all shades of whites, nudes and pastels, preferably in a flow-y material like chiffon as well as baby blue denim. Then when I'm back in London again, my wardrobe is all black.

Vingi who's my classmate, who followed me to Madrid and Malaga this time around instead of John. I had a fabulous time with her.

By the way, very upset I broke my black 10 SGD shades before I even had a chance to wear it on this holiday so I invested in this pair of Miu Miu's because I wanted a proper pair of shades for ages but didn't feel the need to buy it before. Why don't i have a higher nose bridge!?

One thing I love about the streets of Madrid is the sign marking the road (ok suddenly forgot what it's called ...) . There is a small painted picture accompanying the name of the place which makes it so beautiful and special. For every road, there is a different picture.

I had rose and lemon macaroons at this market somewhere off Calle Mayor. Yummy.

We or rather I found the way to the Cathedral as well as the Royal Palace (?).

Makes me feel like a princess coming to places like this. If there was one Disney princess I would want to be, it would be Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Later at night after going to Tribunal for shopping, we met my cousin and went to this Spanish tapa bars which was packed to the brim. I wouldn't know it exist if it weren't for my cousin. The tapas were really yummy. Patatas Bravas! Another ummm spanish word I know which is this tapa dish of potato in spicy sauce.

We then went to have drinks at a bar at I can't remember where because we walked alot that night. Madrid at night reminds me of Malaysia because there are so many chairs and tables set on the road at night or the pavements for people to sit under the night sky and have a beer or two which is so similar to the mamak styles of Malaysia. Sigh I miss Malaysia.

We were at the lower level which only has 3 tables lol.

I declare my love for a certain Spanish food called PAELLA! The mushy rice that tastes almost like risotto but dryer, covered in seafood with a touch of lemon ... ahhh.

I'm going to Madrid, Spain tomorrow and to Malaga on Saturday! Yay!

However not with my usual travel buddy, John because he has work so hope for the best!

Ipad 2

Hi, so I'm the proud owner of a 16 gb + wifi white colour Ipad 2.

I received this on Thursday, 24th of March, a day before it came out in the UK.

This is also the first birthday present I received from my brother in six years, all the way from the states! This itself makes my Ipad 2 very special to me already despite it not being the 3g one. I mean I would love to have the option of being able to use the internet anywhere but who's complaining. The last present I got from my brother was the red Ipod nano which I had for 5 years until some fucker stole it from me.

So I've downloaded a bunch of games into it already, ones which i don't have on my Itouch ... like worms which resulted in a competitive battle between John and I just this evening and tetris. So addictive! I don't feel like playing anything on my Itouch anymore ever since having that bigger screen.

I wasn't looking or even thinking of buying an Ipad because i already have a Macbook and an Itouch but since having one I do appreciate it alot. It's easier for me to read now that I can download books into it and just carry that one thing with me instead of a thick book which takes up majority of my handbag. It MAKES me want to read because I haven't read anything in ages so this is rather convenient. Browsing through the internet is rather convenient as well instead of holding my laptop to my belly everytime I'm on my bed and I love photobooth on the Ipad as well as having the back camera although it's quite awkward to take photos using that!

I have yet to use my Ipad to it's full advantage but right now I have to say I am not disappointed at all and I love my brother to bits.

Who's got the best brother in the world? ME.

21st

On the 11th of March, I had my pre-birthday celebration for my 21st.

Had dinner at my favourite Chinese restaurant, Pearl Liang which serves evening dim sum and amazing chinese food. Their selection of Dim Sum in the afternoon is amazing especially the Custard bun and Egg Tarts.

Anyway my 21st theme was supposed to be a traffic light party, red for taken, yellow for complicated and green for singles. BUT obviously some people didn't follow the rules.

Everyone! Sarah made everyone said cheese three times when the waitress took our photo.

We went to Tiger Tiger after, I booked a table on 2nd floor and was it a good night. I love the company and it was absolutely amazing.

John bought me my beautiful birthday cake. Red Velvet as usual from Hummingbird.

Casa Mila and Casa Batilo

This is me standing at the crossroads just in front of Casa Mila, one of the architectures done by the infamous Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona.

I have to say my favourite of all the Gaudi places we visited has to be this as well as the Sagrada Familia. I guess I love the whimsical rooftop with statues that seem to stare into the distance.

Upstairs was a museum where they housed smaller scale models of the building and floorplans as well as a few other things Gaudi did.

and then we went to the rooftop which is the main point of coming here in the first place and paying that 15 euros entrance fee.

It's my birthday, I can do anything i want to including making my boyfriend take 1812093821093812 pictures of me in the same place. Lol.

By the way, I don't think I'm too overdressed? Maybe a little in Spain but in London people wear all sorts of things (just look at CSM itself) and I just wanted to look nice on my birthday. I also realised that almost every women in Spain wears jeans, seriously so I'm the odd one out.

John, tired of carrying the backpack around with our jackets in it and soaking up the sun. He does look rather white from London's extremely long winter.

My best friend and travel companion for the past year. Short note, no one has ever made me laugh or cry or get angry this much but yet you made me feel safe even when we were arguing because at the end of the day I know I still have you watching over me. Your love for travelling and the idea of experiencing something new makes me a much braver person than I was before I met you. So I guess I'm lucky to have found you. While we still have each other for this moment, I love you.

My favourite part of the whole building has to be the tiled corridor leading to the top floor ,where they have this glass balcony to give a viewer a sense of looking at water like in a swimming pool when they look through the glass.

I was so exhausted by this point because we had an extremely long day from getting the flight out of London at 6 a.m. with no sleep behind us and walking to all these tourist places.

I remembered leaving cold, early morning London and arrived at Barcelona to be greeted by cloudy blue skies and the glorious Sun.

Standing at La Ramblas

We didn't have our hotel room ready for us yet, so we didn't get to freshen up and went wandering around La Ramblas and it's little streets since our hotel wasn't too far away.

I found the little cobbled streets lined with shops on both sides leading away from Las Ramblas so awfully romantic and charming. The sunshine just glorifies how beautiful the city already is.

Barcelona is so much more beautiful than London, it's not that I don't like London but it's the architecture, how every individual building has it's own balcony projected from it's walls. The pastel colour if not sandy brown walls of the buildings as

I Love Barcelona

I'm back from my 21st weekend in Barcelona and I have to say, I LOVE Barcelona so much. It didn't disappoint me and met all the expectations I had of the city as well as everything I dreamed it would be. Sigh. 3 days was definantly not enough,

I didn't get the chance to walk the gothic quarters, visit the Picasso museum and go up Tibidabo. John and I did get to see Gaudi's amazing Sagrada Familia which we got a nice view of from our hotel's rooftop as well as Casa Batilo and Casa Mila. We also navigated our way through Barcelona's Metro system as well as the alleys in La Ramblas and stood at the seating area of the Barcelona stadium. We enjoyed the sun at Park Guell and had 70 euros seafood dinner at Port Olympic accompanied by free shots.

It has been an amazing 3 days and I want to go back in the near future.

Also I'm 21 now. Legal to drink in the United States ha.

Schindler's List

Last Saturday I went to the Imperial War Museum with Spencer and there was this exhibition space called 'the Holocaust'. After that we were both so into the Nazi's history etc since I knew barely anything about them. Such an eye opener that exhibition.

Today we both watched this movie called "Schindler's List" directed by Steven Speilberg in 1993 based on the book 'Schindler's Ark'. I haven't heard of this movie until today when Spence talked about it, well wouldn't be surprised I was 3 when it first came out and Malaysians don't learn anything about the Nazi's in high school's history. This movie won a lot of Oscars that year and it deserves it. It is a true story about a guy from the Nazi party name Oscar Schindler who saved 1200 Jews from death during the Holocaust. Everything is in black and white but it sets the atmosphere of the whole movie perfectly well. Such an eye opener. It has everything from the beginning of the ghettos to the resettlement of the Jews in the camps, everything. The last part when Schindler had to flee because the war was over is so touching.

I love this quote by Poldek Pfefferberg who is one of Schindler's Jews:

"Schindler gave me my life, and I tried to give him immortality.

It's so beautiful. Pfefferberg is the guy who got in touch with the author to write the book about Schindler and pestered Steven Speilberg to do a movie on it. The world should have more people like Oscar Schindler who found hope for people who were brutally murdered and slaved without any justice.

Today I had my first official fainting experience. I always felt faintish in crowded areas before this but this was the first time I actually fainted! It was during Lifehouse's guest performance at the concert. I knew I felt something was wrong and I immediately told John. He told me to lean on him and I did. Next thing I know was that everything started flashing around me just like the noise in pictures or during the end of a television channel. Everything literally went dark and I thought I was waking up from a dream. When I woke up, I was on the floor. Started looking for Spencer and immediately noticed this Indian woman sitting next to me who happened to be a doctor. I mean what are the chances of fainting next to a doctor right? But I did. She was so nice, she waited next to my side eventhough I told her I was fine while John went to get water. I actually felt like I was in those movies where someone fainted and then someone would yell, "IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?" Thank god I was leaning against John otherwise I would've probably fell down and hit my head or something and thank god I DID NOT FAINT when Lifehouse was performing. Felt so embarrassed but what the hell. Quite worried about my health condition now. John said I felt like dead weight when I fainted and he thought I was joking.

As for the concert, they sang 16 songs altogether and Jason did acoustic versions of their songs. They were so good live, I might have to say, even better than their recording! Had an awesome time there and their guest performance was Emma's Imagination. I haven't heard of them but I have to say they were pretty good. The lead singer did a cover of 'Drive' which is my favourite song by Priscilla Ahn and I loved it!

Rang Mun up during Everything because she wanted to hear it. Jason did a 1 minute acoustic version and it was the band's closing song. When they sang "I miss you", it reminded me of Mun and Khei so much for some reason! 'Falling in' just reminded me of Spence and I.

The other day, John and I went to catch this movie at Shaftsbury Avenue. It is a... rather depressing but captivating movie. One of the few British movies I enjoyed. After the movie ended, we both felt really depressed. I didn't cry my eyes out like I do on other teary chickflick but I did cry a tear or two. How bad it must feel to actually know when you are going to die and watch your loved one go just like that just because you are classified as a clone and not someone with a soul? I felt that the director could have gotten more emotions from the actors though like when Keira Knightly completed her tasks, they just left her part there and there. And then there is that part where John argued that how could Kathy let Tommy die like that without even trying to escape or something? If i truly loved someone, I would do everything in my power to stop them from dying even by means of running away. :/ It hurts so much just to be apart from someone you really love. Its well past 12 midnight, it's Chinese New Year today yet nothing feels festive. I can still feel the weight of the work and stress I have been holding for the past few weeks. No new clothes for the occasion, no chinese snacks, no red packets. I just want to lay down in bed, watch Pretty Little Liars and call it a night but it's not so simple.

However, i do think 2011 ... so far, has been treating me fairly well. I've been receiving presents from Spencer's mum 2 weeks ago, new titanium fabric scissors!, new gloves from my dearest cousin who I still need to buy a present for and a lovely 20kg box filled with dried food stuff that has been sent by my mother, came through the door today! I love little surprises and all these made the harshness of uni fade away a little.

I had a pleasant sort of reunion dinner with Hui Wen and her friends. The food was so yummy and the company was great. Tomorrow, I'll be having dinner with my aunt who's visiting from Malaysia and on Friday with Spence and Jolene I think.

Hi, been pretty busy with uni lately. This week I've achieved my greatest record yet since high school! waking up at 8 a.m. to get to school by 9 a.m. All this just to get a space in the print room. Two more weeks left for this project, pretty busy.

me, not so early morning.

and our last day at Koh Phangan before we left the next day. Woke up to more Thai Green Curry and Tom Yum Soup. Sigh why is Asian food so good?

that afternoon we decided to go to Leela beach, smart boy wanted to walk, so we walked indeed. Walked up a hill and down again because smart boy didn't know the directions. In the end we took a tuk tuk to Leela beach!

on the way up the hill though, we saw this! SO adorable! Boat hotels, actual boats that were parked in man made pools.

By the time we got to Leela Beach, it was almost sunset. So beautiful. We walked along this wooden bridge by the side of the hill and came to this little hut where you can just sit there and enjoy the sunset.

I miss Asia so much. So so much. The warmth, the food, the everything. Looking back at the pictures, I feel so nostalgic about the past summer. I would love to do everything again, even the bus trips and sleeping by the road side, everything.

After the sunset we headed to Leela Beach Bungalows and had dinner. More curry! God I miss proper chinese curry, not japanese curry, not indian curry just the watery chinese one.

He couldn't decide what to eat.

During his year after uni, he went travelling with his best friend for 8 months and Leela Beach, this specific bench was where he slept for 3 weeks. He felt so nostalgic when we were there.

Dining area. It's not a very luxurious place, more like a backpackers hostel but the people we met over there were so friendly! I guess you know, push the luxuries aside, you get genuine, humble people. There was this 40 something year old woman from California who's just plain crazy. Her punch line would be "full power! full power!"

The owner's of this place! I adore that old woman and I know she's quite fond of me because I'm Chinese! Hahahah. She kept telling John, "She's really good, she's chinese!" and she kept talking to me about the time when she went to KL when she was younger. She's so adorable.

Everyone we met that night! With an Austrian girl name Tina I think who has practically done everything from getting a diver's license to sandboarding to sky diving. I'm jealous. And also two Austrian guys, one of them is missing from this picture.

We all headed to the main beach, Haadrin Beach for abit of drinking and partying. So more party pictures with captions on it.

and this Thai guy's name is Paul. He's wearing a Kate Moss t-shirt with Harem pants. He's gay I think and he just couldn't keep his hands off my boyfriend. You can see proof and evidence in the next few pictures. It was funny at that moment when I had alcohol in my body but when I'm sober ... I found it kinda gross cause he was very very sweaty and he gave me a big hug and kissed both of us on the cheeks ...

Had to drag him up two hills that night after he passed out on the beach to where we were staying. FML. He's so heavy and there was sand everywhere on the bed ... worst thing is the next morning, he thought we took a cab home when we did not. We WALKED plus at one point he threw a plastic chair across the patio of one of the Restaurants nearby, thank god there wasn't anyone there. The plastic chair broke.

African Sunsets

Took the images from Google images. I love the colours of African sunsets, yellow, orange, red maybe a hint of blue, green and purple. My colour palette for this project.

Wool, cotton and suede.

I want to try working on suede, haven't tried it before and it's such a lovely material. Hopefully it works!
